Cultural Workshops Working With an Interpreter Interpreter Orientation

Are you interested in becoming an interpreter for The Bridge? All medical and community interpreters working with The Bridge are required to attend our Orientation Program for Community Interpreters and must pass the standardized written Code of Ethics test and oral screening. Course consists of lecture, role-plays, videos, written material, question & answer. Topics include:

  • Medical Terminology, Cultural Competency, Interpreting Skills Practice
  • Code of Ethics, Role of the Interpreter, Professionalism, Time Management
  • The Bridge Policies and Procedures, HIPAA Regulations
  • Source and Target Language Screening
  • Written Anatomy/Medical Terms Test
  • Current Immunization Records
